Brro-brro-brro-brro-brodder!  Most people no saben que back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise estaba hecho in England. In fact, the Titanic was cargando like 12,000 jars of the stuff para deliver in Veracruz, Mexico, which was la proxima port of call for the ship after it stopped in Nueva York.

This would have been lo mas grande single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico, verdad. Pero, como sabemos, the ship did not make it to New York.  It hit a frickin' iceberg, and sank bro, and the cargo was lost para siempre (y Leonardo DiCaprio tambien!  Ño!!). The people of Mexico, who were loco for mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were seriously bummed at the loss, bro.

De hecho, they were SO bummed that they declared a National Day of Mourning, cual es still observed hasta this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs cada año on May 5th and is known, of course, as "Sink-o Da Mayo".  Ño!!
