WASHINGTON, D.C.-President Barack Obama told a group of young African leaders on Monday that killing albinos to harvest body parts was a “foolish tradition.”

At the Young African Leaders Initiative summit in Washington D.C., President Obama was asked about the murder of African albinos and the harvesting of their body parts for financial gain.

“The notion that people would discriminate against somebody because of the color of their skin after all the people around the world have gone through – is crazy”, he observed harshly. “It is infuriating and I have no patience for it!”

WASHINGTON, D.C.-White House spokesman Josh Earnest on Wednesday dismissed claims that the Planned Parenthood has illegally profited from harvesting fetal tissue.

“This organization subscribes to and implements the highest ethical standards in carrying out their operations,” he said of the organization.

Republicans have seized on the controversy over the last week and a half. Two senators running for the GOP presidential nomination, Senators Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas), have threatened to add an amendment to defund Planned Parenthood to this month’s must-pass highway bill.

“Obviously, we do not at all support a measure like that,” Earnest said when asked if the president would sign a bill that included such a rider, though he stopped short of issuing a specific veto threat.
