Guess what!! The words decimate, desecrate, and defecate are not the same. True dat! As you know, to decimate is to is to destroy in large numbers (i.e. “She totally decimated those crab legs at Golden Coral!”).
To desecrate is to violate the sacredness of a person or object, or toilet (i.e. “She sure did desecrate the ladies room.”)
Lastly, to defecate is to do a poo-poo. (i.e. “I went into the bathroom after she left and by the acrid stench and brown splashes on the walls, I think she must have defecated.”).
Thus, to use all of these unrelated terms in a single statement, one could say; “After decimating fourteen servings of crab legs, Michelle Obama desecrated the ladies room by defecating a live lobster.”
