BREGA, Libya – Rebel Leader, Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, called for the UN to provide his beleaguered forces with “a few weapons” and “a butt-load of ammo” to continue their struggle against Qaddafi’s military.
“We must have more ammunition if we are to defeat the Dictator’s army,” he shouted, firing his weathered AK-47 into the air.
Nearby, several young soldiers pointed a wide array of fire arms toward the sky as they made shooting sounds.
Freedom fighter, Fathi Muktar, was solemn. “Currently, only half of our fighters are able to fire their weapons into the air,” he admitted letting loose with short burst. “We must not rest until every citizen has enough ammunition to shoot skyward for at least 10 to 20 seconds.”
The rebels have also called for more medical supplies to treat the recent epidemic of head wounds related to gravity.
