Booyah, basketball fans!! It’s Scott Finley with another installment of Loser Sports Update. 

As you know, Denver Nuggets Center, Chris Anderson was tossed out of the NBA on a two year suspension in 2006 for violating the league’s anti-drug policy (which should not be confused with the league’s anti-gun possession policy, anti-DUI policy, anti-wife punching policy, or anti-stripper assault policy, for which there are no actual punishments).  But if you’ve been following this season, you know the Birdman has returned with a vengeance.

Averaging 2.5 blocks per twenty minutes, 6 pts, and six rebounds a game, Anderson is a lightning fast defensive nightmare with a .500 field goal percentage. LS sat down with Chris and asked the one time dunk contest phenom what he did with the two years the league gave him to ponder his actions.

“Oh, I worked on my free throws, got a haircut, and did some acting,” he admitted, referring to his recurring role as “Vince” in the Sham-Wow commercials. 

Released by the Hornets, Anderson has found a home in Denver where he’s helped his team clinch their division and home court advantage for the play-offs for the first time in 21 years.  Unfortunately, they had to send Allen Iverson to the Pistons to do it, thus cursing the Detroit franchise for the next twenty-one years.
